Working closely with TDSB and an active local school community group, VFA provided a site Master Plan for significant improvements across the entire school yard. The plan features a new artificial grass playing field with running “trail”, multiple natural play and social areas, chess tables, timber stage platforms, new playground, basketball court, line painting games and extensive native tree planting throughout the schoolyard. The project also involved the redevelopment of an unused lawn area along Carlaw Avenue to create a new full-day Kindergarten outdoor play area with natural play features and social spaces.
