This donor-funded project at TDSB’s Etobicoke Collegiate Institute involved the design and construction of a new CFL regulation-size football field. This highly popular facility features an attractive two-toned synthetic turf sports field with custom school logo at centre field, new asphalt running track, spectator bleachers, sand jumping pits and extensive tree and naturalization planting. As the site is located within a floodplain and adjacent to Mimico Creek, collaboration with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) was required throughout the design process, and many technical challenges were addressed to meet their specific requirements for stormwater management.
